How do I join Orion?

If you’re already a working professional, thinking about entering the aging industry or a student with a passion for elders, we invite you to join us! Individuals interested in membership must be sponsored by a current Orion member and attend at least one chapter meeting. It’s preferred, however not required, that the first meeting be in the candidate’s ‘home chapter’ - the area in which the individual’s professional endeavors are currently focused or are planned for the future.

Orion membership best benefits those who share and act upon our core philosophy of being a trusted resource to fellow members and the community.

We welcome professionals currently engaged in eldercare and the aging industry, business professionals exploring new pathways in the aging arena and students with a passion for elders.

What are the annual costs of Orion membership?

Orion membership is an annual commitment that starts on a member’s join date. Individual dues are $450 per year, which may be paid annually or by quarterly payments. There is also a one-time processing fee of $100 due upon purchasing an annual membership. Above costs apply to Primary, Exploratory and Associate members.

Student memberships are available. Dues are $120/year with an additional one-time $50 processing fee paid upon joining.

Can I attend an ORG meeting to learn more about the organization?

Once sponsored by a current member, qualified candidates are welcome to attend up to three chapter meetings (in a four month period) before joining. A candidate is to attend the first meeting with his/her member sponsor; this meeting is complimentary. Fees apply for each of the second and third meetings.

Are Orion meetings and events currently being held virtually or in person?

In accordance with CDC guidelines and since March 2020, Orion has produced a robust roster of exciting virtual events and meetings. Like many organizations, we’re eager to return to a full slate of face-to-face meetings. Orion continues to monitor health and safety concerns on an ongoing basis and makes adjustments to our programming and meetings accordingly. In this way our chapters, leaders and the organization look to offer quality virtual, hybrid or live events for members as each location and event venue allows.
