Eating Healthy for Older Adults
SPEAKER: Gila Singer, Manager for Nutrition & Dietetics at Phelps Hospital, Northwell Health

Ms. Singer will review the nutritional guidelines for older adults, evaluate the impact of aging on nutritional status, discuss nutritional interventions and identify strategies for healthy eating.

Gila Singer is a registered dietitian with experience across multiple care settings including acute care, behavioral health, dementia, and long-term care. She is a board-certified specialist in gerontological nutrition and has worked extensively with the skilled nursing population and across the care continuum. She is currently the Manager for Nutrition & Dietetics at Phelps Hospital, Northwell Health, where she oversees the team of clinical dieticians and dining assistants. Phelps Hospital is a NICHE certified (Nurses Improving Care for Healthsystem Elders) and Age Friendly Health System, catering to a large geriatric population.
